Selain rekaman asli yang di mastered ulang, serta rekaman konser, album reissue ini juga dikemas bersama booklet dengan tulisan essay dari wartawan musik Kory Grow, poster dan kartupos yang kolektibel.
Album 'Countdown to Extinction' dibuat tahun 1991 ketika terjadi hal-hal krusial di Amerika, seperti kerusuhan rasial Los Angeles, perang teluk, penundaan pemilihan presiden. Album ini masuk nominasi Grammy sebagai Best metal Performance.
